Compress Microsoft Word Documents (by atleast 50%) (for uploading into Yahoo)
Hey Stumbler / Googler – You might have probably landed on this page in an attempt to search articles on “How to compress Microsoft Word Document” so that you can compress and upload your resume to job listing sites.
Yes, most of the job listing sites have a restriction on the file size and you will not be allowed to upload if the document is – lets say more than 100 kb (eg: Yahoo).
But you can certainly follow the below steps in-order to compress word documents by at least 50% -
- Open the Microsoft Word Document you wish to compress.
- Click – Files > Save As..
- A pop-up will appear and you can type “File Name” and Select “Save as type”.
- Type file name in “File Name” textbox
- Select “Word 2007 Document(*.docx)” from “Save as type” dropdown. [this is the key step]
- You should notice that your file should have a decreased file size, if not, try to select different options from”Save as type” dropdown and check yourself.
